For Raw Feeding Is A Diet Of Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Lamb, And Salmon Enough Variety?

I mean organs, meat, bones, veggies, not just the meat. But I have heard for the dogs to get enough vitamins and minerals they need variety. Does this mean I must also include venison, and rabbit?

I feed a turkey neck or chicken back in the morning and beef heart ( sometimes kidney) at night. Both meals have a bot of veggies and oatmeal or rice mixed in it too. They also get two capsules of fish oil and a glucosamine tablet for their joints. I sprinkle kelp powder on every meal as it adds essential trace minerals. They also get whatever is lying around ex, an old banana, the strawberry cuttings from cooking, egg shells, apples…. you name it! This is a diet that my trainer helped me with. They also get NO weight bearing bones as they are denser and harder to digest, they can perforate the bowels. We just stick to necks and backs, that way it is softer bone, more cartilidge. MMMmmmm.

The best thing to do is to go to yahoo groups and read up on the Raw forums. There is a whole lot more to it than just feeding meat variety. Good Luck and glad you are doing the research before just jumping in there. By the way some people use omega 3 fish oils as supplements, yogurt, whole eggs shell and all.
