Does Switching To Raw Feeding Make Dog’s Tear Stains Go Away?

I fed my dog raw for a little while and I noticed his tear staining improved…. but after going back to kibble, his stains came back with a vengence. So have you or do you know anyone who’s dog had tear stains and when they switched to raw the tear stains went away?

It certainly helps a lot of dogs with their tear and beard staining.
I used to use one of the tylosin antibiotic stain products until they were made illegal in Europe.
I was desperate as the stains were coming back with avengance. After hours on the internet reading thru forums I tried the RAW diet. It certainly helped a bit. Many suggest that this could be due to the fact that historically dogs in nature rarely ate grains.
On its own it wasn’t enough to stop all of the staining but it did help.
I ended up using a natural tear stain remover (angels Delight) as well as the RAW. This helped to stop all of the staining and was a great source of any of the vitamins or nutrients that my dogs were possibly now missing.
According to Kim at Bichon Hotel who sells me my Angels Delight there are a few decent good quality kibbles. She says that many of her customers use a kibble that she now sells called Taste of the Wild.
I have had no experience of Taste of the Wild so can not say if it does help- I can say that RAW and Angels Delight have worked for me,

Yes. With some white breeds kibble, especially that containing beet root pulp, can cause increased eye and saliva staining.
One of the benefits of raw feeding for me has been not having to worry about my Samoyed getting tear staining and decreased staining around the mouth.

    NO!!!
LOWERING the protein level does! EXCESS protein is excreted through URINE,saliva & tears! Which is why HIGH protein DAMAGES KIDNEYS!
