okay so i have been raw feeding my pup for about 1 week now and he is doing great with it i am happy, he has been on chicken i need to know when to switch to another meat and when do i increase the amount of food my pup is getting? i give 1 pound a day in 2 meals of 1/2 lb each. also would love peoples pro’s and con’s on the raw feeding method..please explain your answer as i am still learning everything i need to know…if you need to know my puppy is a 10 week old german shepherd dog.

With pups I tend to add a new food every few days – this way they get a broad palate and don’t seem to be as ’set’ on one type of food.
How old is the pup and how big will he be at adulthood? I usually feed three times a day until the pup is about 4 months old. And by this age they are eating the same amount that they get as an adult dog.
I have weaned a litter of pups straight to raw ‘frankenprey’ and feed my adult dogs and cats this way too. I cannot imagine ever going back to commercial foods.
if your puppy seems to be adjusting to the diet, then you can start introducing other meats and organs.
Increase the amount of food as his size increases.
I have been feeding raw for 3 or 4 weeks now and Im pleased with it.
