Anybody Notice A Difference When Feeding A Raw Diet To Their Dog?

I started feeding my 2 year old Bichon a raw diet and I’ve noticed a big difference in his skin. He was on super premium kibble (human grade excellent stuff) and he started gettiing big dark patches on his skin all over. It started on his tummy then went all over his body.
I started feeding him Nature’s Variety frozen RAW for about a month so far and the spots are going away and fading back to his nice pink skin.
Has anyone else feeding RAW noticed some thing different and good or bad since feeding it?

I’ve been feeding my dogs raw for quite some time now & the major differences I’ve noticed is that they’re more energetic & lively, toilet training becomes alot easier with puppies because their stools are firmer & less smelly, but mostly, because one of the raw foods I feed has seaweed meal in the ingredients it has helped my golden retrievers under active thyroid naturally so I don’t have to supplement him anymore with thyroid tablets which was probably caused by dry kibble in the first place (before I knew better :( ).
Keep up the good work :) ))

~ Raw is awesome, and Natures Variety is excellent. I have yet to hear of anyone reporting bad things from their dog eating raw (other than just to knock the idea). It is usually responsible for healthy improvements, skin and coat changes and ideal body weight not to mention excellent teeth. I feed raw and kibble (Orijen) not together but raw as a meal replacement. I love it and have thought about going all raw but have 11 dogs and it is a lot of work. I think it is the best diet you can do and am glad your dog is doing so well on it.

    My wallet got thinner.
No, seriously, I’ve tried the NV Raw Medallions and pre-made raw meals, but I didn’t see any huge difference in my dog. She does very well on her high grade kibble, so it’s one of those “If it ain’t broke. . .” things.
It didn’t do anything bad and it was the only other food I’ve found that doesn’t give her nasty nasty gas, but I personally just didn’t find a huge advantage.
However, I *DO* recommend it all the time to people that have dogs that *are* having problems of some sort. : )

When I was feeding my dog raw chicken, I noticed a big change in him. His coat looked even better than normal, his eyes seemed more vibrant, and he acted more energetic… not to mention he went about half crazy over it! I haven’t been lately because I can’t afford it, but hope to again soon.

I feed a home made cooked diet and my dog looks great, she needs to gain a little weight but her coat is in great condition etc. :-)
