They are just a little over two months old. I bought some Aunt Jeni’s home made chicken formula. I didn’t really see anything about feeding it to kittens though. I fed some to my adult cats for the first time, but the kittens ended up eating most of it. Is it okay for them to have raw, or are they too young? They eat blue buffalo or wellness kitten formula and whatever wet food I end up feeding my other cats.

I had two foster kittens under two months two weeks ago. I gave them a very finely chopped up raw chicken wing, the raw liver and raw heart from a chicken I was cooking. They ABSOLUTELY loved it.
I do a home-made diet for my cats that is their dinner every day so I gave them that too. It was their preferred food – I had all kinds of cans of kitten food from the shelter and they liked that best.
If Aunt Jeni’s is ground meat do add the chicken wing and parts. Kitties that learn to chew on stuff at an early age will continue to do so.
You can also chop up a chicken neck (which is mostly bone and too much calcium for daily use). The chicken neck is the greatest “toothbrush” you can give your kittens. Chewing on bone really cleans the teeth. A couple of times a week is a great dental prolaxsis.
Raw diets are usually okay for all animals. Its allmost better to start out feeding that when they are young so they get used to it. Try mixing a kitten formula wet food with the raw diet so they get the best of both worlds.
Mom cat would be feeding them mice and any sparrows they could catch, by now. Provided the protein content is high, and there’s organ meat in it for the taurine and full nutrition, it’s ok for them.
raw food is great for any age of cat..it is the healthiest choice..good for you caring about your pets enough to feed them wholesome food!
Absolutely! Congrats on the new cat!
