feeding a raw diet does have its benefits, but it is also a lot of work. i find it pretty irresponsible of a dog trainer to just tell someone to feed raw without any other information. not all dogs do well on it, and if not done right, could harm your dog. i would talk to your vet about it. go to http://www.dogster.com go to the forums and talk with people who do feed a raw diet. it isnt for everyone, and definetely not for every dog. so really research it and then decide if its something you want to do.
check out the B.A.R.F diet. (bones and raw foods) I had a picky jack russel that did well on the barf diet. you should be careful though, be sure to research it and do it right. it is alot of daily work, but very nutritional
I wont give my dogs raw meet because I wouldnt eat anything raw and I sure wouldnt give it to my dogs. They have treats to train them with which is alot more healthier
Your best bet is to join an online forum for raw feeders. Asking here is opening yourself up for trouble. http://www.dogster.com/forums/Raw_Food_D… you can post as a guest; or there are quite a few on Yahoo-Groups that you have to be a member to post.
i have never heard of it, sounds like you need to be really careful not to give your dog(s) worms from the meat.
i would also say not wild game (deer ect)
but since i dont know much about it thats all i can say
sorry i couldnt be much help :
Most breeders and trainers say that it is best to train dogs with small treats, some breeds it is actually bad to give them raw meat, mostly “bully breeds”, because they get used to the taste of blood, and that supposedly makes them more aggressive.
i wouldn’t give a dog raw meat cause they can get worms or they can get sick it depends but i wouldn’t do it they only dog you can give raw meat to is a wolf hybird or a wolf. other then that you can’t feed a dog raw meat!
