be careful about it and then only feed low fat stuff such as steak / fish --
i would stick to just beef and fish that has been frozen and then thawed in order to kill any parasites etc

I have fed my cats a raw meat diet for seven years and believe me they don't have parasites, infections or poor health because of it. Cats have been eating raw meat for millions of years and there wouldn't be cats around if it weren't the appropriate diet for them. It can hardly be labeled a "fad". It is more appropriate to apply that to commercal cat food which has only been available for about fifty years!
I believe it is not advisable for a ten-week old kitten and two to three months is a good time to start on raw food. I have sent you a personal email about it and suggested a Yahoo group for you to join where the members are preparing their own raw diets for their cats.

i don't really know how big a cat is at 10 weeks(though it seems a bit early to me), but i'm fairly sure that there is nothing wrong with feeding them raw meat. better than kitekat or whiskas or whatever artificial food you'd buy.
i guess you should be careful weather your cat knows how to chew or not. it's really important that you don't chop the meat up in too small pieces, because it will have dificulties breathing and one of mine almost happened to choke on it. i advise you give it chunks, big enough to practice their chewing and overall teeth-to-meat relations. ;)
a note: (raw) meat makes animals (and people) more agressive.

store bought food has the proper nutrition, and yes cats in the wild eat raw meat but we are not talking about wild cats we're talking about domesticated animals who aren't used to it. last time my cat caught a mouse and ate it she threw it up 10 minutes later.

This is interesting...what raw food would you be feeding your cat other than maybe a mouse or two? I have never heard of this...could you expand on it? Thanks.
