Raw chicken is fine to feed cats. The problem is that she may most likely not get all her nutrients from it if that is all you are feeding.
If that is all you have right now, do feed it to her but you need to research her nutritional needs.
Google raw feeding cats for now and go to the Yahoo raw-feeding groups.
I’ll return to your question later, am going to work.
Update: If the chicken is her only source of meat, do NOT cook it as heat destroys most of the taurine present. Taurine is an essential amino acid for cats, is found only in meat (although you can purchase it as a dietary supplement). Taurine deficiency will lead to retinal damage and blindness as well as cardoimyopathy.
Also, cooked chicken bones are brittle and could pierce her digestive tract. All my cats, for many years, have eaten raw bones.
In addition to the taurine issue, they have a much higher dietary requirement for protien as a whole as well as fat (animal fat). They require a preformed retinol (vitamin A) source as derived from an animal source such as liver. They cannot convert beta carotene as we can.
There are many other differences between our needs and those of cats. Here is one link for you http://maxshouse.com/feline_nutrition.ht…
Ignore the people who are warning against raw food. I fed my first cats raw and nothing bad ever happened. My current cats eat premium canned food and raw. They are very healthy. Just make sure you go to some raw feeding groups or forums and ask questions.
    Good luck with your cat.

Providing a raw diet for your cat or dog is a perfect diet, as long as you balance it. Raw is their natural instinct, in the wild, they would have to catch and kill their food(no ovens lol) so therefore it is raw. In my opinion, it’s the best way to feed you animals, as commercial wet food is just cr ap, no matter what brand you buy.
Try feeding different meaty bones, too, if you are going to start raw feeding your cat, as chicken won’t cover needs such as iron, which she will get from red meat such as kangaroo meat or mince. Still feed your cat cat biscuits, and then she will have a balanced diet.
Please don’t ever cook any type of bones and feed them to any animal, as the cooking of them is a greater chance of bits splintering of and get stuck in your pet, or perforating part of your cat’s insides, so never, ever cook pet feeding bones.
    Good luck!!!

Raw anything really shouldnt be given to any pet, were u giving it to the cat as a special treat or something?
Quite often people food, Raw especially, can have adverse effects on animals, it can cause mild to severe stomach irritation as well as serious allergic reactions that can effect internal organs and cause irreversable damage that can more often than not, cause its system to be weakend and vunerable to many things such as : household cleaning products for example, canned tuna even, which is not really advised to give too often due to the content of mercury
Simple solution w/out risk, just feed your cat, cat food, and treats made for cats,
I hope i was of help to you and your kitty butt
    Sincerely

Its fine, but you can’t just feed the raw chicken and nothing else – its not a complete diet.

  5. Always opt to adopt! says:

It’s fine, but it’s no where near a complete diet.

  6. Gorgeous says:

It is always wise to cook any form of meat, if you simply clean it and boil it she will not get the impurities and the stale blood of the animal to eat… so for a more friendly cat…. cook da meat..
