cooked bones are bad. Cooked bones do not digest well and can puncture.
raw bones are digestable.. the only hazard with raw bones is chocking.. but this issue arises when people feed parts that are too small and the dog attempts to swallow the food whole (for example a large dog like a rottweiler could easily attempt to swallow a chicken wing whole).. feed appropriate sized peices so your dog is forced to chew instead of gulp.
it is very very bad to feed your dogs any kind of bone. the bones splinter and cause many many problems, just don’t feed them bones. there are many chew toys and treats that will work for your dog and are safe.
the raw diet is an excellent idea! very very good for your dog in so many ways!

Bones are okay for dogs if they are meant for dogs, like you buy in the store. But if its bones from a chicken or turkey, or something along those lines, DO NOT feed it to them. It will splinter in there stomach, and damage their organs.
The only kind of bones i feed my dog are raw hide bones and maybe a steak bone or two. Make sure they have no sharp edge’s. that’s important. Your vet is right.

Cow Femur bones are great too. Pork and chicken bones splinter, that is why they are harmful, as you know. I was wondering about the raw diet myself…
