Feeding The Raw Food Diet To Puppies?

Hello. We have a small 7 week old collie puppy who is a very small puppy (propably the runt of the litter) our other dogs are fed raw. My question is how can i convert her over the raw food diet and should i, should i not give her bones when the others have them? If i should give her bones then what ones should i give her? Also, supplement wize can she be given cod liver oil etc?

Yes, as others have already said.
No need to supplement if you follow the links. I have converted puppies straight to raw and also raised a litter of 8 Border Collies directly on to raw as soon as their eyes opened. It’s good for them and it’s fun.
Great to watch them all chewing and tearing at their raw meaty bones, developing sound strong muscles, healthy jaws and teeth.

If you want to switch the pup over to raw you need to do it slow introducing it with the diet she is on now . As she is a puppy you need to make sure she gets extra vitimin supplement. Ask your vet as they will know what is the best supplement for her. Cold liver oil would be fine to give her but she still needs another supplement like SA37. As for bones it should be fine for her to have them if the others do but you need bones that don’t splinter again check with you vet.

Yes you can convert her over to raw, pups tend to be easier to switch. And yes you can giver her bones. Because you will just starting off hold off on the supplements until she’s settled on the diet.
Yes she can have bones, since you have fed raw and been through the rodeo already you know to start with chicken, some of the softest bones you can get.
Join raw pup plenty of other owners who have been where you are and are there right now http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/Rawpu…
Remember to feed her for her ideal ADULT weight.

Yes start the puppy on raw as soon as you feel comfortable.
If you want to feed bones and are a little afraid.. ive managed to find whole minced/ground chickens (meat, orgnas and bones). You could try that and give the puppy a larger bone just to chew on as a treat during the day until you are confident she wont choke.
Cod liver oil should be ok to give the pup… but if you feed fish at least once a week, twice would be better, you wont need any supplements. Puppy will get all the required supplements from the meats, bones and organs.
I found a really helpful chart with what vitamins are in what meats.. Ill try and track it down and send a link to you shortly.
Hope this helps and good luck with it all!

    Start her asap. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRL63Emt4…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgfsYPAPg…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qyZc01rW…
The sooner you start the better. Supplements arent required. Instead of giving cod liver oil, you should just feed them fish and livers.
