OKay, so my cousins are feeding my dog a raw chicken drumstick and I’m a little bit worried that my dog might be sick.

I give my dogs whole raw chicken carcasses, drumsticks, turkey drumsticks, lamb briskets bones etc and they have NEVER had a problem.
All these myths about raw chicken meat being bad are just that, MYTHS. Dogs are carnivores, meat eaters. What do you think wolves in the wild eat? Raw meat, including raiding poultry from farmers. Yes it may contain EColi and other meat-borne bacteria, but dogs’ stomachs can handle it. Humans cannot.
Meat is good for the dog yes but not raw it sounds silly but raw meat carries the risk of worms even in domesticated human food sources because they can not cause harm to people unless ingested raw many food manufactures do not even treat for worms.
Also NEVER give a dog chicken bones in addition to the fact that the bones are small and easily swallowed they also can fracture into shards and lodge in the mouth and esophagus causing injury and sometimes death.
very often with pure bred dogs and some crosses table food is not well tolerated it can cause gas, vomiting, and diarrhea. This is not true of all dogs just a word of caution.
The meat would be fine, but not the bones.. Chicken bones aren’t as strong as other bones. They break very easy and this could hurt your dog. It could do a lot of damage or could even kill her. She could break the bones into little pieces very easy and swallow them and that is not good.. She could choke or the bones could be sharp and cut her throat or insides.. Just take the meat of the bones first..

Dogs do great on a raw diet, which includes chicken. However, if a dog isn’t used to eating raw, it may cause lose poop, until she is used to it.
Yes, the meat and the bone are fine, raw..but never, ever feed cooked bones. Raw bones don’t splinter, but cooked bones do.

They say raw meat is good for dogs – Personally im leary of raw chicken just because i know it can make me really sick but the dog should be fine. If it really bothers you just ask them not to – or boil it in water then you get a good chicken broth and cooked chicken dogs love it.
Raw meat and bones are just fine for your dog. Anyone who tells you differently has not done their research.
My two Maltese eat raw chicken drumsticks a few times a week. It is great for cleaning their teeth, building back and neck muscles and helps satisfy their urge to chew.
the meat is okay for the dog. its actually good for them. but in a drum stick there are lots of small and pointy bones that a dog could easily hurt themselves on. if your going to give your dog the chicken, remove it from the bone first.
it’s fine, just make sure the dog is supervised while eating. bones are fine as losg as they are raw.
