It is truly amazing how little some pet owners know about their own pets and their digestive systems.
Cats are indeed carnivores. And their digestive tracts are designed for a steady diet of (RAW) meat. And that meat can be left rotting in the sun for three days and they will still eat it and not get sick. Their systems are not the same as ours and they are not affected as badly as we are by the things that crawl on their food. Oh; a cat can still get ill from some bacteria but the chances of it dying are remote.
My cat eats meat. I do have dry food on hand but with what the cats eats outside and the meat scraps from the kitchen it rarely eats the dry food.

Don’t just feed her the chicken, feed her a variety of meats if thats what you think is best. I dont neccesarily agree with the your choices but she still needs a varitey because chicken might not have all of the nutrients she needs.
see, I dont agree but she doesn’t care! she alreay made her decision and I gave her advice on what she wanted. why do people try to talk people out of things when that wasn’t what they wanted to know?

I would suggest boiling it. Sure they eat raw food in the wild…but just to be absolutely sure she doesn’t get parasites I would boil the chicken. You should also buy her dietary supplements if you’re going that route. Chicken alone won’t get her what she needs. Why do you think cats live so much longer in captivity? Give her about a cup of chicken a day and supplements.

NOOOOOOO. Do not feed your cat raw meat of any kind. She is not used to it and will cause upset stomach and possibly even the same diseases we can get from eating raw meat. Raw poultry and pork cause extreme food poisoning in people…

it’d be okay, but it is very important that if you are going to feed your cat raw meat, that is all she can eat
you cannot switch between meat and kibble. its either one or the other

I think your cat should be in the wild or born in the wild to have raw food. My cat vomits everytime he had insects. I don’t think raw food is a healthy choice for your cat.

Unless you killed the chicken yourself I would highly recommend against it. It will be riddled with bacteria. Why do you want to do this anyway?

never give a cat raw meat it will give them worms. I had to stop letting my cat out because it got worms. the vet said it was from eating birds and squirrels.

make sure you cook the chicken first before giving it to your cat, boil it.

Hi, well I dont know much about the raw chicken and I know that was your main question, but I want to suggest you buy better quality cat food other than Science Diet if you want a healthier cat.
My cat got really ill a few months back, and he was blocked, aka he couldn’t pee. The vet told me it was no more general cat food. Those foods, (not sure about SD), have main ingredients of like corn meal and water… So obv corn meal is not what wild cats run too…
I suggest a specialty cat food store. They have a ton of options, many probably better than the one I’m going to suggest. They do tend to be more expensive, but its far better quality.
I use, Nutro Max Cat – Adult formula
The main ingredients are chicken broth, chicken, beef liver, cod, beef lamb, rice bran, and ground rice. (then other things I’m not going to type the entire list)
I’m also not sure of the name, but I know they have totally organic versions, and only meat options. Def check out a store like this, or even check to buy online!
