Question To Raw Feeders….?

So I’ve been researching raw feeding lately and ended up buying a product by The Honest Kitchen called “Keen”, which is dehydrated raw food and my dogs love it. I really want to get my dogs completely off of commercial food but I’ve been a little resistant, probably a little afraid of the unknown, and just used to feeding kibble for so many years. But tonight I’m going to take the plunge and go for it.
I’ve read that it’s best to pick something and stick with it for about a week when you are first starting, so that your dog’s system gets a chance to adjust. So the question is this-
Is something like chicken drumsticks with a little bit of liver or some other organ meat OK to give for their first totally raw meal?
I hope that after their meal tonight I can relax about it and that it’ll become second nature to feed my dogs this way.

I’d do a few days worth of chicken before I introduced liver… although, my dogs are raw-fed from their first meal ever as pups so I don’t have to worry too much about their system adjusting.
Chicken is a great meat to start with though… and its one of the easier meats with bones for a dog to figure out how to crunch and eat bones. Depending on the size of your dog, you may need to address the size of the chunk of chicken – my dogs would swallow a drumstick whole so I only give quarters or backs or the carcass (breastplate and back).

Ive always been told that its best not to give organ meats right away.. they are quite rich. Let your dog adjust to the raw diet, then introduce organ meats.
