Hey there. It depends on the size of dog, what you’d consider to be a good quality commercial kibble, and how you’d find places for your raw food – that’s the best way to compare.
I just got 40 lbs of chicken backs for $18. Let’s assume my 2 dogs eat 1 pound a day, so that’s just over a month’s worth of food for $18….the other things I feed them (plain yogurt, canned pumpkin, vegetables and tripe to stuff into their Kongs) plus Ester-C vitamin supplement, will add in a bit more. Let’s say $25 for the additional stuff per month. So that’s $43 a month to feed 2 dogs. I won’t count the neck bones and recreational bones I get them. The key for me was finding the source for the chicken – much less expensive than buying chicken wings at the store for $2.50 a pound!http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/BARF-…

I would say packaged dog food. You get longer lasting quantities than you would raw food diet. Raw meats come in smaller packages and $5.00/lb at times. There is a large contraversy on raw food diet vs. dried dog foods. It’s 50/50 good vs. bad on both topics.
