I have a panda held in captivity and he is hungry. He doesn’t seem to respond to the cat food I give him. I know that pandas carnivores but he doesn’t eat cat food nor the raw steaks I give him. I used to have a crocodile and a sun bear and they loved the raw meat I fed them. So why doesn’t he eat the meat? Also I think the kennel I put him in is too small, should I use a cage? I heard that home depot has things to make cages in. I donno please help!
Oh and also how do i make the protesters outside of my house go away? Should I send the crocodile on him?
Pandas are not carnivores!!! They live strictly on bamboo.
Give it up to the people, its better off being in a zoo then where it is now.
What kind of Panda do you have — a Giant Panda or a Red Panda?
Both eat bamboo as their primary diet, even though Giant Pandas are carnivores (Lily’s answer is wrong!). They can be fussy about the type of bamboo that they eat because the flavor of the bamboo changes in different seasons.
Try feeding your Panda apples, pears, cooked sweet potatoes, and carrots. As a treat, put honey on a cardboard box or plastic crate and watch them lick it off! But the honey is just a treat — the main diet is bamboo!
Don’t keep it in a cage. They need space to explore and exercise. They also like to climb trees!
