Can You Feed Your Dog Raw Chicken Hearts?

I heard that putting your dog on raw food is very good for their health, but I am skeptical about giving her raw chicken hearts, is it okay?

Yes! My dogs eat raw meat every day, and chicken hearts are really good!

  2. Barefoot says:

No. The trend is raw food diets is drawing a lot of unpopular reviews, especially from vets. This is a very bad diet, causes a lot of health problems, including low energy, poor quality control, poor nutrition, gastric distress, and constipation. Look for the research. There is a lot of it out there. 99.9% of vets are against it.

OH YEAH!!! Dog absolutely love them, I feed them raw chicken hearts frequently. Raw is great for dogs, and chicken hearts are a particular favorite treat of mine and my dogs.
Barefoot is right about ONE thing. Most vets are against raw feeding, but that’s because vets are not educated on dog nutrition and they are not qualified to give out nutritional advice. Read this for more about vets and raw feedinghttp://rawfed.com/myths/vets.html

It is absolutely ok, most dogs diet should consist of 70-80% raw meaty bones. I feed my German Shepherd chicken and lamb hearts and she loves them, don’t give her just hearts, balance her meal with other foods as well.

From my experience, dogs that eat real food instead of dog food are healthier and live longer.

  6. Pillsberry Dough Boy says:

I wouldn’t that sounds disgusting. Feed your dog dog food, not raw chicken hearts.

  7. sweetiep says:

yes they favor them yum yum

  8. doglover says:

@ barefoot – do your research… a domestic dogs digestive system is 98% identical to the wolf – what do wolves eat? other animals (raw meat, organs (hearts) stomach and contents, bone etc.)

Vets want you to feed kibble because it causes MORE problems which = more $ for them.
