If they were living in the wild that is exactly what the mother would be feeding them – and they would be thriving on it. And raw chicken wings are great for a cats teeth. That’s why cats have powerful jaws – to crunch up the bones.
Gotta love cat owners who have no idea what their animals dietary requirements are; or that their animals are virtually immune to salmonella.

As long as they are large pieces they need to gnaw at to eat. – too small and they may inhale it, including the bones, and choke.
Another thing- if your cats aren’t used to it, you don’t want to feed a ton of raw meat at once because their bodies are used to kibble, mothers milk, etc. You can introduce more as their body adjusts to it.
If you are just looking for a one-time snack, go ahead with a wing each. Chicken wings by themselves would not be nutritional enough for a complete diet.
Yes, the chicken wing may have salmonella and other bacteria, but cats have a much better stomach than ours and can handle and kill the “bad” bacteria.
Anything that they need to gnaw at and can’t just swallow whole (like normal dry or canned food) is good for their teeth- so working around and biting on bones is great- scrapes off tarter and leads to healthy and strong gums and jaw muscles.
I don’t know why people are worrying about cats getting hurt from raw bird bones- any outdoor cat, or cat that snuck outdoors, has probably had a songbird or two, and easily lives through it. Bones splinter easily if cooked, so raw bones are actually safer than cooked bones (try breaking bones on the turkey this year pre and post cooking- you see the difference).

Great idea! If they become a weekly or bi-weekly treat it will help keep their teeth in good condition. I would chop them up into about three pieces (four if the tip is on). A raw chicken liver is also a good choice once or twice a week.
Kittens tend to growl over them and sometimes take them off to hide and keep other kitties away from them
Use tongs to dip them quickly in some boiling water to destroy any surface bacteria. I don’t bother to do that and if it makes you feel more comfortable about it, that’s fine.
NEVER feed an animal cooked meat with bone. It is the cooked bones that tend to shatter and cause problems.

Yes it is. I would suggest partially removing the skin the first few times. Eventually they will get the hang of it themselves.
Many raw feeders also recommend chicken necks as a good dental work-out for cats so you could try those too. My cats don’t go for them for some reason but you should try a few and see if yours enjoy them.
Do avoid feeding any poultry with cooked bones however. The bones become brittle and prone to splinter.
All of my cats have eaten at least some raw food. Two of my current cats began when they were between 4 and 5 weeks old and now all three have one raw meal each day. They are very healthy cats.
Cats’ bodies are made to thrive on raw meat and bones. If they weren’t supposed to eat it they’d come out of the womb with little hibachis.
Here is a little information about raw feeding and bacteria:http://www.felinefuture.com/?p=1462
If you are interested in raw feeding the kittens do post more questions. The chicken wings should be excellent as a supplement but aren’t a complete raw diet.

Yes, it’s very good for their teeth. A cat was meant to eat raw meat – do you think they cook their mice, birds, and baby bunnies out in the wild? Cooked bones will splinter and can be very harmful, but raw bones are not. The raw feeders hopefully will see your question, and tell you what they know! But most of them do feed the raw wings once or twice a week.

I wouldn’t give anything with chicken bones to a pet. The bones can splinter & hurt your animal.

  7. Cassidy says:

It’s probably not good for their teeth.
The bones in the wings can accidentally be swallowed and cats can digest them so it can create a blockage in their digestive system and that could lead to a lot of other problems.
Plus raw chicken has bacteria and can make your kittens sick.
Give them Wiskas Dentabits there treats and there really good for their teeth.

  8. Jade says:

I wouldn’t really feed a cat raw chicken since it can harbor bacteria and viruses.
Some boiled chopped boneless chicken is a good treat, though.

  9. Adam says:

um maby it depends like they might have can food for it idk if raw is good or not though for them

  10. sunshine says:

absolutely not!!!!! They can get salmonella just like we can.

  11. Alex says:
