I grow things in my room like sweet potatoes and wheat grass. I used to let them nibble at the leaves and stuff, until I learned that sweet potatoes are bad for them. Is it the same with grass? And what plants can I grow in my room that they won’t get sick eating?
Avocados, flowering plants, potatoes, grass, the like. And if you know, what insects can I feed them? I like to give them super worms as it is.
Avocado seeds and skins are poisonous but the flesh they go nuts for. But be careful, it is high in fat and should be generally given as a treat.
Potatoes not so much as theyre a bit starchy, but you can cook them first.
Grass has a high water content and anything with a high water content can cause diarrhea, which is not exactly what you want, and can cause dehydration very quickly if youre not careful.
My rats go absolutely insane for pumpkin, mango and banana but i dont see you growing them in your room.
Mine never ate insects… but loved cooked chicken wings!
You could try roses, or small squashes. They love rose petals
Oh and when one of my girls escaped her cage outside and went feral for a little while… we had a tomato plant one day, next day we didnt…. I can only assume little miss had a banquet of tomato goodness (i never gave them tomato while I was actively showing, too acidic and watery and made traveling very unpleasant)
well u can feed him dry vegetables. Rats benefit from a variety of vegetables, fruits and and other fresh foods that help to keep them healthy. broccoli, potatoes, peas, carrot, cooked sweet potato, kale, parsley, bok choy, squash.
You can not give rats raw sweet potatoes, flowering plants, grass or avocados… and you should never feed them insects. All of these are extremely bad for your rats.
Try growing carrots and tomatoes.
