Is It Ok To Feed Cichlids Raw Carrots?

I have heard that somewhere that you can.. We just ran out of food and the fish are hungry- its too late to go out and get some food and we have carrots in the fridge. Would it hurt them to nibble on a raw carrot??

It won’t hurt them, but I doubt that they will eat raw carrots. Many (but not all) cichlids will eat cooked carrots, though. Just cut them up and boil them until they begin to get tender (but not mushy). Then feed a little to the fish. Just feed a little bit until you see how much they will eat, if any.
In any case, it won’t hurt your fish a bit to go a day without food, or even a week.

You can. It’s very good for them – the beta carotene will enhance your cichlids colour. Mine loved carrot.
