Change your Ideas about Weight Loss and Meals Get Easier

General ideas about nutrition affect our eating choices every day.  When your goal is weight loss, meals have a great deal to do with how you approach your food.  Too many popular diets restrict you from eating the things that are actually best for you in the name of caloric reduction.  Instead, they encourage you to consume pseudo foods that have little application in a real, day-to-day diet.

While, ideally, we would all be at our optimal weights, the fact is that a majority of American’s carry extra pounds.  A large part of the problem stems from how we eat and what we eat.

The food we are being sold at the supermarkets is rarely designed for optimal nutrition; rather it is created for prolonged shelf life.  The result is a nation of people who feel constantly hungry, but continue to gain weight regardless of their attempts.  Fortunately, there are ways to change the way you think about eating.

Better Nutrition Leads to Weight LossThe very first thing you need to do is to change your eating patterns.  Eliminate sugars, artificial sweeteners and other low nutrition foods.  They are no good for your body, and actually are among the most likely to cause weight gain.  On top of providing you with no benefit, they make your body work harder to digest them, (if they are even digestible) reducing the good you receive from good foods.

The Good Foods and Good for YouFor your body to metabolize well, you need to provide healthy input.  Whole grains, barring wheat, lots of organic produce such as dark, leafy greens, colorful carrots, beets, peppers and tomatoes and wholesome fruits, especially berries.

Make sure every meal contains some form of protein, and make sure it is the best protein you can get.  Organic whole eggs, grass fed meats – not grain fed, wild caught fish – not farm raised, and organically raised poultry are the healthy options, and that would even include deli meats and bacon as long as they have no nitrites or nitrates.  Raw nuts and nut butters are another great source of protein.

Move over MilkFinally, you want to remove commercial dairy products from your diet.  A great number of pundits tell you that dairy is good for weight loss.  The fact is that commercial dairy products are often chemically laden and nutritionally dead.  Although you can absorb calcium from them, you get better absorption from leafy greens.  If you must use dairy, get raw milk products from specialty sources.  This milk still contains its natural digestive enzymes and your body processes it much differently.

Now Build your BodyWith the ingredients listed above, you can plan nutritious, healthy meals that feed your body and soul.  Imagine a breakfast of fresh berries, drizzled with raw honey, topped with a couple of tablespoons of raw milk yogurt or a BLT made on sprouted grain bread with a ripe tomato and plenty of organic romaine lettuce.  Sounds pretty good, right?

You can create weight loss meals that revolve around superior, healthy ingredients that taste great.  All you need are the right tools.
