My vet told me to feed my cat cooked chicken as she stopped eating her normal cat food. She keeps stealing raw bit off the chopping board while I am cutting it up is it ok if she has the whole lot raw? I don’t like how much fats and oils come out of the chicken when it gets cooked.
I personally feed a ground Raw Meat, Bones and Organ based diet to my cats and they are incredibly healthy on it. I HIGHLY recommend it. While scary at first, once I got the hang of it and felt comfortable with it it’s a snap to prepare.
Cats are obligate carnivores after all and must derive ALL their nutrients from meat based sources. They are unable to absorb them from any other source. Despite thousands of years of domestication they remain strictly carnivorous. True and honest meat eaters and that is what they need most. Protein from meat!

Of course you can, fresh clean chicken of course. Cats do like meat/fish/poultry. My cat even eats bread and cheese. I have never fed a pet cat store bought standard cat food. The butcher is the better place for getting food that feeds the feline.
I don’t think it will be problem, as long as all the little bones are removed. Especially in cooked chicken, the small bones can break into splinters and hurt them.
Raw chicken is good for cats better then any other raw meat as it is not so rich ,better than coocked chicken. You ca even liquadise the meat bones of the chicken but toy have to make sure the bones are all fine not any whole pieces of bones.
I’d say no personally, wouldn’t want to risk her getting ill!
Yes you can. So long as you’re sure that it’s not spoiled. In fact, raw would be better because the nutrients won’t be cooked out of it.
It sounds like you’re doing this as a temporary thing while she’s gone off her food?
If so, this would be fine. But if meat – raw or cooked – were to become her complete and total diet, you’d need to add a supplement because although raw meat is very excellent, it doesn’t provide all the nutrients and whatnot that cats need.
we are talking about a tiger right??
Shes being a wild cat give her meet not a lot tho and slowly give her her real food like mix them up it works =)
Pre-prepared pet food is a relatively modern invention. Forty years ago most pet dogs were fed on cooked scraps, and this is still the case in many other countries. Only a little further back in time dogs were fed on raw scraps and cats had to fend for themselves! Dogs and cats evolved to eat and digest raw food and there is plenty of evidence that a raw diet has health benefits.
Of course, not all raw food is safe for cats and dogs. Sharp bones can cause injury to the throat, stomach or intestine. You should always avoid meat that is spoiled by bacteria or is not clean and healthy looking. Cats should never be fed raw fish because enzymes in it can break down nutrients the cat needs. If your pet has a problem with chronic illness or a weakened immune system then you should discuss any change of diet with your vet first.
The choice of raw meat is important; AMP raw foods are made from the best ingredients and are guaranteed to be healthy and safe.
