Raw Feeders…are You Paying More?

I have always been very interested in starting my dog on a raw diet.
But, I was concerned about the price..
I feed Merrick dry dog food (5Ib bag- 16$ every other week)
Would you say I would be spending more or less money raw feeding?
(Keep in mind this change wouldn’t be for a couple of months, I need to do my research if you couldn’t tell.)

I decided to try and switch my dogs dry food to a raw food intake. I did google the subject and i didnt find any cons to the raw food diet, plus, i never been comfortable with the dry food..
Anyone here feeds their dog raw food? i do leave in apartment building and we have carpet so i wont give him whole bones.
How can i transfer my dog to a raw diet food? should i do it right away or just add some raw ingredients to his food? My dog always liked veggies, like carrots and tomatoes. Does raw feeding gives dogs upset stomachs?

For those who feed their dogs a RAW/BARF diet: Has any one ever fed their dog an ox or cow heart as a whole meal?
We bought our 6 month female labrador her meals for the week today, and thought we’d try her with ox heart. That will be it for organs for another week now, she may get a chicken liver but no more.
How do your dogs cope with eating heart? We gave her 1/3 (about 250gms) of it, froze the rest and she’ll get another 1/3 in a week.

I keep hearing so many stories, both good and bad about a raw diet for my dog. I am just wondering if anyone actually does feed there dog raw meat and if so what are to pro’s and con’s??? Has anyone ever gotten sick from feeding it to thier dog?

I kind of want to start my dog on a raw meat diet(I will make all the proper, slow introductions), and I’ve heard very different reviews. I most likely won’t feed him the raw meat diet for quite a few years(he’s three now, so it’ll probably be too late to try by then, but for future reference?). Any future puppy I get will be a husky, Akita, or any large dog like that. I’ll probably end up getting a mutt from the pound, though. Anyways, I was just wondering what your opinions are on this?
In my opinion, I think it’s perfectly fine. That’s what they ate when they were wild, isn’t it? And it’s been said by vets that it’s healthier. I’m not an expert on that, though XP

I Am Feeding My Dog A Raw Diet……..?

I switched her over about a week and half ago. I started her on just chicken (and a couple raw eggs) and she’s been fine. Aside from a bit of gas (ew) the first day or too, she hasn’t had a problem.
I decided to work in a bit of beef liver last night, and not even 5 minutes after she ate, she threw everything up. She was fine before and after. I just gave her chicken again this morning.
Has anyone experienced this before? Do you think the beef liver was just too rich? I had just bought it, and everything was sanitary while I was preparing it.

I’m getting a puppy in (hopefully) a month or two. I’ve thought about feeding normal dog food but it seems that a raw diet is much healthier for dogs.
What ingredients should I use?
How much of it?
How many times per day?
I’d probably be getting a female Labrador so I’d need something that a Labrador would feel full eating.
I’d prefer ingredients that I could buy at the supermarket or butcher, not online or somehwere I need to go hours away to find. I live in Australia so please do not suggest Wal-Mart or PetSmart etc.

I have heard that feeding a Raw Diet to a dog, is healthy for it. But I don’t know it just sounds stupid feeding your dogs bones. But I also don’t’ really know anything about it. So is it good or bad to feed your dog a Raw Diet? Please answer this!

If I decide to feed my dog a raw diet which I would like to do how do I know that when he’s grabbing the chicken with his paws then walking around on my floors that my daughter isn’t going to get e-coli. It is not an option to bath him every time i feed him. I can keep him in one area untill he’s finished I still would worry about what he gets on his paws. Would mopping my floors be good enough.?? Please help.
