I Would Like To Be Able To Purchase Raw Meaty Bones For My Dog. Any Ideas?

I feed my dog raw food only and the occasional scrap bones from my butcher, but i need a more regular stable supply. Does anyone have any pointers as to where i can purchase large amounts of meaty bones, scraps which i can freeze.. Whether off an internet site or if any one knows of a slaughterhouse in surrey where i may travel to.
Any help appreciated x

I feed my dog raw food, and the one he is eating right now doesn’t have the veggies mixed into it like some brands, like urban carnivore. I want to give him fresh veggies with his meal but not sure much to give him. Hes a 17lb French Bulldog X Boston Terrier and he is 11 months old.He eats a half pound patty a day.

Remember I said I’d be taking a couple of my dogs to 2 new in town vets and purposely leave out the fact they were raw fed until after I inquired about how they felt about a raw diet? WELL…Friday afternoon I did!
1st Vet: After waiting for a while because they couldn’t find me in the computer, I was invited back. The vet (who will remain nameless) couldn’t believe how good Itor looked for his age and commented on how “nice” of a dog he is…(yeah right). I asked about how he felt about a raw diet and he went on about a 15 minute tirade of how it’s deadly and nearly animal abuse and how my dogs could die of Salmonella or E. Coli if switched to a raw diet. I asked if he had ever treated dogs with Salmonella or E. Coli poisoning he said yes, one case of E. Coli which was fatal…the cause? The dog ate recalled DOG FOOD…way to drive home your point there doc! Then I dropped the bomb: “Well Itor was weaned on raw hamburger as a 4 week old puppy and has eaten raw ever since…”…his response “Well…if he’s doing good on it, and he seemingly is, I wouldn’t change anything”.
2nd Vet: This place was a little more laid back, not as Ritzy…had a homey feel, I liked it! We went back to the exam room and everything was what you’d expect, I got a multitude of compliments from the Techs and Vet on Hannibal and his boyish handsomeness and great looking coat and muscle tone and again on Itor’s niceness -chuckles under breath-. So at the end of the “Everything looks GREAT” examination, I asked about the raw diet!
This time I was told the same banter, E. Coli, Salmonella…I again asked if she had ever treated a dog with either ailment, she admitted no she had not. She did however recall a woman who shows Amstaffs in my city (I’ve heard of her). She switched to raw (didn’t know you were supposed to feed organ meats) and her dogs went downhill (duh) and she finally switched back to kibble. The vet then told me she had “Never seen a dog fed a raw diet that impressed” her. I then told her the dogs she’d just examined had been fed a raw diet since 4-8 weeks of age…her response was “Well I can’t say I’ve never seen a raw fed dog who didn’t impress me anymore!”.
Legit: For those of you who feed raw diets, what do your vets think? For those who do not, Monday, why don’t you call in and ask what your vets think about a properly fed raw diet (one with organ and bone fed)? I’m sure the answers will be hilarious! And lastly for those AGAINST raw feeding, are your reasons the same as these vets, are you worried most about e. coli/salmonella…or is there something else that bothers you? No TD’s from me, everybody is welcomed to answer!

+All dog foods are not created equal. There is a huge difference in ingredients, quality of ingredients and company standards. When wondering what to get or comparing your current food it is best to do as much research as possible.

These foods have low quality ingredients that can cause allergies, diabetes, bloat, overweight, oily skin, excessive and or runny stool and a myriad of other problems.
Most of these brands are owned by companies like Del Monte, Proctor and Gamble, Mars and Nestle. Do you really believe that a company like Proctor and Gamble who makes beauty products, household cleaning supplies, baby items,prescription drugs and many others is the best suited company to make quality products for dogs? 50% of Mars is pet food, 45% is unhealthy snacks like candy bars. Science Diet is promoted by vets who in return make a profit on every bag they sell. Hill’s is the largest employer of veterinarians outside of academia. They sponsor many pet nutrition related veterinary school programs and hold seminars and training sessions on the subject of pet nutrition for practicing veterinarians. So of course Hill’s is going to say they are the best, they are teaching the vets pet nutrition, they want to make a profit, not healthy cat and dog food. Does this sound like the best company to make dog food? All of these companies have one thing in common, they have the advertising to make you believe pictures of meat and veggies and healthy dogs running around on the commercials is what you will get. Knowing the truth about what is in these foods is devastating.

Can Someone Help Me With Dog Food Please? I Was Feeding Orijen Which Says 41% Protein, But Switched To Raw In?

dehydrated form. Both are human-grade excellent grain-freed dog foods but wondered why the dehydrated was only from 21% to 29% protein, depending on the flavor. I wondered also if the drop in protein is responsible for my dog suddenly having a insatiable appetite since I switched.
Can anyone who knows about nutrition please give me your thoughts on if the new food with less protein is what might be making my dog very hungry, and also why so little protein compared to Orijen, is Orijen too high, or is the raw too low?

Raw Food Diet For A Dog..?

I decided to try and switch my dogs dry food to a raw food intake. I did google the subject and i didnt find any cons to the raw food diet, plus, i never been comfortable with the dry food..
Anyone here feeds their dog raw food? i do leave in apartment building and we have carpet so i wont give him whole bones.
How can i transfer my dog to a raw diet food? should i do it right away or just add some raw ingredients to his food? My dog always liked veggies, like carrots and tomatoes. Does raw feeding gives dogs upset stomachs?

I have two dachshunds and have one on Nature’s Variety Raw and it is great, I put her on it because of allergies and it has helped and she loves it so much. Raw is a lot different from kibble and it is a lot better for dogs as it is much more natural. See every single piece of kibble is perfectly balanced and that is not natural in the wild they would eat different things that would balance out in the long run, which is better, raw is also more benefitial in terms of their teeth and overall health since there is not as many additives, If you have an other questions about raw let me know I would be glad to answer them
