Raw Food Diet For A Dog..?

I decided to try and switch my dogs dry food to a raw food intake. I did google the subject and i didnt find any cons to the raw food diet, plus, i never been comfortable with the dry food..
Anyone here feeds their dog raw food? i do leave in apartment building and we have carpet so i wont give him whole bones.
How can i transfer my dog to a raw diet food? should i do it right away or just add some raw ingredients to his food? My dog always liked veggies, like carrots and tomatoes. Does raw feeding gives dogs upset stomachs?

Raw Feeders – Your Assistance Please?

I asked a question yesterday whether or not to feed raw.
Anyway I have chosen to switch my 5 dogs and 4 cats to RAW feeding.
I have started out with a basic feeding for this week of:
Chicken mince (the pet store kind made for dogs contains bones and bits ground)
AND
Chicken necks
The question I have is should I throw away the dry food they were previously fed on or give them a bit of it (to help them adjust?)?

I Am Looking For People That Feed Their Dogs A Raw Diet?

Hey I am looking for people who feed their dogs raw diets. Do you have any good links? What type of things to do you feed your dogs? What are their fav things to eat? We are feeding eggs, chicken, rice and cheese once a day and dry food (canidae all life stages) once a day for the older dogs and twice a day for the puppy. We want to feed all raw but we need more information about it. So if you feed raw please let us know of some good sites and any other information you can give us. Thanks!

Should I Switch Both My Dogs Over To Raw Food?

I have 2 dachshunds, a boy & a girl. They both just turned a year last month. They are super healthy and are very active dogs.
Since I got both of them, I put them on some great high quality dry dog food. I have them on “Wellness”. They love it, but they are deffinetly not picky eaters, they will eat absolutely anything I put in front of them. I also give them a vitamin, every other day that has minerals, vitamins and things they may not get in the food (which my vet has said is fine, but I should give them once every other day because “Wellness” is such a nutrient packed food).
ANYWAYS my question is this. I have read on Y/A about Raw feeding. And it seems like there is quite the debate on whethere dry food or Raw feeding is better. And truthfully I have not a clue.
I want the best for my dogs, and I want them to live a long, happy, healthy life.
I want to understand what you feed to your dogs when you are RAW feeding? How much it costs (weekly, monthly etc)? Is it really that beneficial to the dog?
Oh and if it matters my little girl (Kahlua) is about 12 lbs & my little boy (Kona) is about 14 lbs.

Does A Raw Diet Prevent A Cat From Hunting?

My cat is a great cat, but he brings all kinds of prey to the garage door and leaves it. Often times he has made an attempt to eat the prey, so by the time it gets to the door it’s almost unrecognizeable and always gross. There have been pieces of birds, frogs, rabbits, and once even a hummingbird (according to a family member). Apparently he’s quite good and prideful in his work. Maybe I just don’t notice how much he eats, but he doesn’t seem to interested in the dry food I have to offer.
A friend told me that he has been feeding his dogs a raw diet with great success. There is a place near our area that sells raw food for pets; chicken necks, thigh bones, that kind of thing. My friend says it’s better for their coat, energy, and all around health. He doesn’t, however, have any cats so he’s not able to help me on whether this diet would be good for my cat.
What I wonder is, if I would begin a raw diet with my cat, would it maybe give him a better alternative to hunting?

What Kind Of Raw Meat Can I Feed My Kitten?

My kitten is only 3 months old and we want to start feeding her some raw meat (not all the time, just for treats) but we heard raw chicken wings are dangerous.
are they really? what other raw meats are okay 4 my cat? we don’t really plan on cooking her any meat (right now she only eat this brand of dry food called ‘IAMS” and we also feed her some “Eukanuba’ dry food)

Considering Feeding Raw?

My dogs currently eat Chicken Soup brand dry food. It’s a good quality, nutritious food (especially when you consider most kibble out there) that they’re doing well on; but I’m thinking about gradually switching them to a raw diet. I’ve been searching for info online but much of it is contradictory. Does anyone with experience/knowledge have suggestions for me? Such as what to start with, what and where to buy, how much to feed, benefits, etc… Anything would be appreciated. Thanks!
*They’re both just over a year old~ a purebred siberian husky, and a rescued lab mix.

Can I Feed My Dog Dry Food In The Morning And Raw Diet At Night?

He is a 7 month old Beagle pup and my dog trainer really encourages feeding the raw diet. We bought some of his homemade food and fed it to my pup at night. He seemed to have liked it, but we are not sure whether to continue feeding him only that (it is also expensive). Would it be possible to feed him a high-quality dry food in the morning and raw diet at night for the rest of his life? Or do I eventually have to make a complete switch?

Raw Food Feeding Suggestions?

I switched my cats to a raw food diet. I’m following the guidelines of 20 to 25% of their body weight is what is given to them in food and they seem to be happy.
Before the raw food diet I left the suggested amount of dry food out for them all the time and they ate when they wanted to, usually never finishing what was in the bowl during the day.
I prepare their food at the kitchen counter all the time and ever since they’ve been on raw they seem to whine more when I’m cooking, and they follow the dishes I have in my hand because they think it’s food for them. I can’t tell if they’re hungry, or if they’ve got nothing better to do. I don’t want to leave any dry food out for them because I read that their stomachs can’t handle both types of food. What I want to know from raw food enthusiasts is:
- What guidelines do you follow to feed your pet?
- Do you feed your pet more than once a day?
- Do you leave any food out for your pet?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Cost Of Feeding Raw?

I’ve researched the pros/cons of a raw diet, so, I don’t need to know why I should or shouldn’t feed raw. Currently, my dogs are on Canidae. For those who have transitioned to a raw diet, do you find it to be way more expensive than a quality dry food?
