There are many things to learn about when it comes to nutrition. But the basic concept is “What goes in must come out.” Your body is like a machine it takes what it needs from what you feed it and gets rid of the rest by urine and the bowels.If you notice you have a problem about elimination, you should take it seriously, go see a doctor. Many people have this problem. Don’t be shy or anything, it can be very serous to your health. The first step, is finding out if there even is a problem. First you should see how many bowel movements you have daily (BM). If you have one per day it’s not a problem, however it is better to have 2 to 3 BM’s a day and more if you eat more often. But if you find you are having one per week or 2 per month, then you have a serious problem.For some people they might say they don’t find the time. The reason could be they are out all day and would prefer to have their BM at home rather then a public bathroom. But let me tell you, you will keep your colon quite happy if you go several times for the day. If you are looking for a trick it would be to eat a lot of raw fruits and vegetables, steamed beets and using digestive enzymes with your meals. Do whatever you can; it will be beneficial to you. I have just lightly touched on the subject, but if you have a problem you should consult a doctor and seek help. Because this problem is not good for your health, take care of it today and look forward to tomorrow. May you live a healthy and prosper life.

Does Anyone Make Their Own Cat Food?

I currently make all my own dogfood (raw feeding) and I would love to do the same for the cats, but their nutrition needs are more complicated than with dogs so I’m a bit wary of starting.
Any recipes and experience in this?

Can Someone Help Me With Dog Food Please? I Was Feeding Orijen Which Says 41% Protein, But Switched To Raw In?

dehydrated form. Both are human-grade excellent grain-freed dog foods but wondered why the dehydrated was only from 21% to 29% protein, depending on the flavor. I wondered also if the drop in protein is responsible for my dog suddenly having a insatiable appetite since I switched.
Can anyone who knows about nutrition please give me your thoughts on if the new food with less protein is what might be making my dog very hungry, and also why so little protein compared to Orijen, is Orijen too high, or is the raw too low?

I Have A Question For The Raw Feeders…………?

In Raw feeding, the whole carcass is used as in the whole Rabbit with heart and liver,Lungs (?) but isn’t something important missing like the guts and stomach contents? Wouldn’t some of this be consumed in the wild, or is a lot of green tripe given to fill this gap in nutrition? I see the distinction between Raw and BARF this kind of being the bone of distinction. Should I Switch My Jack Russell And My Russian Blue To A Raw Meat And Bones Diet?

After all of the concern over the pet food recall, I am seriousley considering switching my beloved pets to a raw meat and bones diet. Have any of you done this? Is it better? How can I be sure that my pets are getting the nutrition they need from raw meat and bones? Could the bones harm them? What about bacteria from raw meat? Any advise or even opinions will be much appreciated. I have been feeding my pets Nutro, but only the dry stuff. Thanks!

Started Feeding My Dogs A Raw Diet And Have Some Questions?

I have two Dachshunds and I decided, after a long time of debate, to start them on a completely raw diet. I have joined some Yahoo Lists to help me and I’ve read all of the websites…
This is where I am so far: It’s been about 4 days
I feed my male dog 1 chicken quarter a day, he loves it. He had some constipation issues, and then this morning pretty bad diarrhea. I am going to change it to two or three smaller meals a day. Does that sound like that is the issue and changing the meal number will help?
Secondly, my female hates chicken. She refused to eat it even when it was cooked before, so now switching her over has been of some difficulty. She loves the bones, so I try to leave meat on a thigh bone and give it to her that way… There isn’t much meat on it at all or she’ll refuse to eat it. Is it okay that she isn’t eating that much meat compared to bone? She has been pooping regularly, but is it providing enough nutrition?
Lastly, is there anyone on here who wouldn’t mind mentoring me through this early stage a little?

I have been feeding my cats raw for about 3 months. They are happier and healthier.

Raw Feeding Cats And Effect On Prey Drive?

I’ve done some research here on Answers and through the various links I’ve seen, and I am interested in switching my two kitties to a raw diet.
For those who raw feed their cats, I’m curious as to whether you’ve noticed any change in your cats prey drive. Yes, my cats are indoor cats. However, they do sneak out once in a while to roll around in the sun and snack on grass. One cat however likes to hunt–mice, birds, chipmunks… and she happily eats what she catches unless I can get it away first.
I’d much prefer a raw diet that I fix to give her the raw meat she craves rather than risk parasites and disease from wild critters. Again, I do my best to keep her inside and safe, and to keep the wildlife safe from her!
But, I’m wondering if you all think that a raw diet would provide the nutrition she might be lacking.

I’m Feeding Dehydrated Raw Food Now, Is It Good To Add Raw Meat To It?

I am feeding my dog The Honest Kitchen dehydrated raw The food isn’t really raw but it’s dehydrated so it can still be called raw due to the low temps used.
So I’m wondering… is it ok to add raw meat? or some lightly cooked meat? (the food already has meat in it.) I just want something very healthy for my dog. I do not completely agree with the BARF diet but I do see the logic in feeding raw meat since dogs have eaten that for a long time way before kibble. But I don’t agree with feeding only raw meat and bones and organs. I believe for the best nutrition, a dog would need the vitamins and minerals from veggies and fruits and supplements
