I Feed My Dogs Raw Food, Should I Worm More Often And I Have An Additional Question?

I have been feeding raw for about 3 weeks now and it just came to my mind, should I worm them every 3 months or so?
Now, the only time I wormed my dogs is when they were puppies, or when they didn’t seem to put on weight. Now I do raw feeding (awesome!!) and they are at a VERY balanced weight and I already have noticed a change in my huskies’ fur.
Anyway, (need to stop bragging about raw feeding lol) Do I need to de-worm every couple of months or so? Ive also read that de-worming all the time is not good for them.
Experienced raw feeders, please let me know your input.

Food Question – Orijen, Raw Diet Etc.?

Another food question – i get sick of seeing them x]
You might want to eat me after hearing this (Americans/Canadians anyhow) – we are currently feeding our puppy James WellBeLoved (actually you may not even have it over there..) well on the DogFoodAnalysis site it is a 3 star food.
It’s first 2 ingredients are: Rice, Turkey Meat Meal.
I’m a member of a Shih Tzu forum (mostly UK members) and they think that it is a good quality food. Over here we don’t have Canadian brands such as Orijen available (other than online) so most people feed either raw diet, JWB, Eukanuba, Royal Canin etc.
I enquired about raw feeding on the forum and a few people feed raw – ‘Natures Menu’ nuggets (link: http://www.naturesmenu.co.uk/products/fr…
I thought that raw was..feeding cuts of meat and a lot of effort but this is effortless, natural food in nugget form. Anyone in the UK had these (or US, wherever) and would you consider them a healthy diet for my Shih Tzu?

Raw Feeders.. Quick Question…?

Does anyone know if there have been any studies about using whole carcass rats rather then say rabbit as a meat source?
I was just curious as I was browsing around looking for snake food and wondered if anyone used rat carcass for raw feeding either cats or dogs.. Please include any links you have as I can’t find anything on the subject..
To anyone who’s anti-raw feeding-
I’ve already researched raw feeding and after comparing it to the crud that goes into commercial diets I think the small risk of my pet getting something like E. coli to be much less terrible then the kidney disease and urinary tract illnesses caused by commercial foods.. I personally eat plenty of raw meats without having ever caught any kind of illness from it.. I’d rather have my pet perhaps on rare occasion get a bit of diarrhea rather then die from mold toxins or melamine..

Raw Feeders I Have A Question About…?

Ok so I started raw feeding about a 4 to 3 months ago and I have seen amazing changes, but i am stuck on what kind of mixtures of meats/organs I should give them. I usually go to Mexican town to get my meat but i have feed more chicken to them than anything else. I have feed them cow tongue, pork ribs, fish and chicken, and for organs i have feed them deer organs like heart, and Kidney, pork liver, chicken gizzards, liver, lungs, brain. So I want to mix it up at least twice a week with what kind of meat i give them so i would appreciate it if you could tell me what you feed your raw feed dogs, like what you feed her every week and where you buy it.
EX:
Monday: 1 pound of meat and bone with 6 oz of organs.
Tuesday: 2 pounds of meat & bone with 6 or 8 oz of organs.
Wednesday: 1pound of meat etc…
also what changes have you seen in your dogs from feeding them raw from, coat, weight, etc…
and if you could post a pic of your raw feed dogies
and any info on raw feeding you want to share is welcomed.
oh and no TD this is is a question and everyone is entitled to they own opinions, oh and star this question so that your Raw Feeding friends get a chance to share their knowledge.

In Raw feeding, the whole carcass is used as in the whole Rabbit with heart and liver,Lungs (?) but isn’t something important missing like the guts and stomach contents? Wouldn’t some of this be consumed in the wild, or is a lot of green tripe given to fill this gap in nutrition? I see the distinction between Raw and BARF this kind of being the bone of distinction. Question To Raw Feeders….?

So I’ve been researching raw feeding lately and ended up buying a product by The Honest Kitchen called “Keen”, which is dehydrated raw food and my dogs love it. I really want to get my dogs completely off of commercial food but I’ve been a little resistant, probably a little afraid of the unknown, and just used to feeding kibble for so many years. But tonight I’m going to take the plunge and go for it.
I’ve read that it’s best to pick something and stick with it for about a week when you are first starting, so that your dog’s system gets a chance to adjust. So the question is this-
Is something like chicken drumsticks with a little bit of liver or some other organ meat OK to give for their first totally raw meal?
I hope that after their meal tonight I can relax about it and that it’ll become second nature to feed my dogs this way.

Question About Feeding Dogs Raw Meat!!!?

i have been doing a lot of research about raw meat and i am in the process of switching my dogs over to raw meat and i have been many different things about how much i should feed my dogs a day…i have been told 3 percent of the body weight…my boxer weight 65 pounds so it would be like 2 pounds a day or so….
please dont answer unless ur going to give an ligit answer dont give me some stupid stuff…

For Those Of You Feeding Raw….i Have A Question.?

I am going to be switching my three dogs over to raw. My question is…..my bullmastiff swallows things whole…..like pig ears…..if he can fit it in his mouth, it will go down whole. Would it be best if I ground the chicken parts up then gave them to him. I know he won’t get the benefit of chomping on the bone to clean his teeth but he gets bully sticks and other hard things for that.
What are your thoughts? What about when I give him other bones, like rib, lamb, beef bones etc (when the time comes)?
