There is a lot of information of eczema available. But most of the information suggests you use creams and ointments to eliminate eczema.

You can dramatically improve your health, create beautiful smooth clear skin and eliminate your eczema by increasing the amount of organic raw foods you consume.

So why raw foods?

#1 – Information on Eczema – Oxygen is a wonderful thing. The more raw foods you eat the more efficiently your cells take up this oxygen. You need a good supply of oxygen to release energy to every cell in your body and carry out an infinite number of critical life processes, including healing eczema skin and replacing dead cells.

#2 – Information on Eczema – Your body has a natural, innate ability to self-heal. This self healing process can only work efficiently if your intake of raw foods in dramatically increased. Eczema and dry skin are one of the easier problems your body can eliminate naturally if you feed it the right ingredients.

#3 – Information on Eczema – A healthy body fights off illnesses and diseases naturally. But it must have a good acid/alkaline balance. Too high acid levels lead to diseases and ill-health. A high alkaline level encourages optimum health and the ability to self-heal many ailments.

Like humans, dogs too get diabetes. When a dog has diabetes, the best way to keep it in control is by giving it diabetic dog food, which is low in sugar and carbohydrates. Apart from controlling the amount of sugar in a diabetic dog’s food, the amount of food and the frequency in which they are fed also needs to be monitored. The general recommendation is that your diabetic dog should be fed smaller meals twice or thrice a day instead of a single large meal. This is because blood sugar levels can be stabilized by smaller meals, whereas a single large meal results in a high insulin spike, and then for it to drop down in 12 hours. When blood sugar plummets too low, it results in hypoglycemia, which is a series condition.
So what diabetic dog food should you give your dog? Here are a few recommendations that will assist in controlling the diabetic condition of your dog:
Shun Foods That Have Sugar
Most dog owners have very little idea about the amounts of carbohydrates and sugar contained in commercial dog food. Carbohydrates are considered a form of sugar because they are metabolized into glucose by the body. Both soft-moist dog food and dry dog food are considered culprits. If you must feed your dog commercially manufactured dog food, it is better to give them a good quality canned food. It is important to check the ingredients, which are printed on the label.
Homemade Diabetic Dog Food
The best solution is to feed your dog homemade dog foods and raw foods. By doing this, you will be able to keep track of exactly how much carbohydrates and sugar they are getting. Putting your dog on a homemade diabetic dog food diet need not be expensive or hard work. There are plenty of websites on the Internet that have lots of advice and recipes that are nutritious and tasty.
Cut Down On The Fat
Apart from regulating blood sugar and insulin levels in the body, the pancreas also produces enzymes that break down fats. Since it is essential not to put too much stress on the pancreas of a diabetic dog, it is important to choose low-fat meats. Ground beef should not be given, and the extra fat in turkey and chicken should be removed. While some fat is required for good health, according to nutritionists, it is best to minimize the amount as much as possible.
Some Grains Are Good
While you do have to be careful about the quantity of grain you feed your dog, since animals cannot digest grains as easily as humans because their digestive track is shorter, certain grains are beneficial for diabetic dogs. Millet, oats and brown rice provide fiber and also help to control the levels of insulin. Some nutritionists also advise cornmeal, but sometimes dogs have allergic reactions to wheat and corn. But it is best to use grains sparingly, because being carbohydrates they are turned into glucose by the body.
Adding fresh vegetables and raw fruits, which are high in nutrients and vitamins, and have natural sugars (which do not have the detrimental effects on insulin levels that processed sugar does), brewer’s yeast which contains a substance known as ‘glucose tolerance factor’ which helps the body to use blood sugar more efficaciously, and Vitamin E which aids in reducing the requirement for insulin, are some of the other recommendations.
Before making any changes to your dog’s diet, it is important to consult a vet about the diabetic dog food diet your pet needs, and give those foods that your dog tolerates well. But, as a thumb rule, avoid giving baked foods that contain sugar and flour.

I’ve had a few responses to my Craigslist posts for raw-foods.
I’ll be contacting the local butchers and grocery stores later on today as well.
I recently had a reply from a farm-owner whom butchers their own cows [well, the son replied I guess].
They won’t have any meats available since they shut down for the summer [no doubt to get the new cows in and fatten them up] — but he stated that they’d have bones quite soon.
I’ve only heard/read that you should give dogs weight-bearing bones – but I recently read about Rib bones from cows.
So:
What cow bones would be a smart choice: Leg bones, ribs, or both?
Would it be wise to give Cow Bones, or should I opt out of that?
Thanks.
And, going by a previous answer, if you have nothing intelligent to add into this – I urge you to close down this window before you show how ignorant you are in such matters.

Is it really better for her than the crappy commercial food like Science Diet and Why?? How do I get started? I read I have to make it balanced and complete, How? Should I be using some sort of vitamin supplements as well? Which meats, veggies and fruits are best? Which things should I NOT be feeding her( ex. onions) ? Is there anything else I should know before considering this? Can you recommend a good site with some sort of recipes or something? Thanks, A best answer will be awarded if there is one

What is protein and why do we need it?

Protein is one of the three major building stone for our bodies. The other two is carbs and fat. It is recommended that we eat approx. 1 gram of protein for every kilogram of weight (ca. 0.5 grams pr. Pound of weight). If you consider living as vegetarian, but are unsure if there are any disadvantages, then you should consider this. Almost all our protein comes from meat and dairy products. Even though it is possible to get more than enough from other sources, it is something that you should be aware about. If you are an athlete of some kind, it is very crucial that you get enough protein to feed your muscles.Protein in a vegetarian diet.

These are the top five very best sources for protein;

Protein consists of 9 different amino acids. You should be aware that not every alternative protein source contains all nine acids (sometimes only 6 out of 9). But as long as you make sure to eat a variety of different foods, you should be safe.

Round up:

To conclude, it is very important to get enough protein every day. A rule of thumb is 1 gram pr. 1 kilograms of bodyweight.

It is far from impossible to get enough proteins even though you don’t eat meat or dairy products.

If you are an athlete, you should consult your doctor or personal trainer before starting a vegetarian diet.

There are really no disadvantages of being a vegetarian, only challenges.

First question: I bought Nature’s Variety Raw Frozen Diet, is this a brand that anyone uses? Experiences? I really don’t feel like I’m capable of making my own, so I’d like to stick with pre-made raw foods that meet government mandated nutritional requirements (even though Purina is considered to meet them ). Does anyone else have a brand that they really like or that is a little less expensive? Right now my dog is on Innova Evo kibble in the morning and one patty of raw at night (he’s 6 lbs). Are you really supposed to feed as little as the raw bag suggests? Sorry for all of the questions, just want to make sure my boy is happy and healthy! Thanks guys!

Humans are born with a sweet tooth. From birth the newborn baby smells and taste the milk of his mother. As adults it is not different. We grow up with many cravings for something sweet. One Can of Coke has 10 Teaspoons of Sugar

The average North American consumes more than 130 pounds of sugar and related products every year. That may sound impossible but when you consider that one can of Coke has 10 teaspoons of sugar; you see that it is not that hard as the average American also drinks about 1 or 2 sodas per day.

When it comes to refined sugar, the bottom line is that as intoxicating as it may be, it is addictive and there is little room for it in a healthy diet. It is by far more damaging than helpful. It is lethal when ingested because it provides what nutritionists describe as “empty” or “naked” calories.

There are many ways that sugar can harm the body and it would literally take a book to discuss the harm.

How is Refined Sugar Harmful to the Body?

Here are seven ways that this refined sweetener is harmful to the body.

1. Sugar Depletes Body of Vitamins and NutrientsBecause it depletes the body of vitamins and nutrients, sugar suppresses the immune system, leaving the body little room to defend itself. 2. Sugar Feeds Cancer CellsSugar feeds cancer cells and has been linked with the development of cancer of the breast, ovaries, prostate, rectum, pancreas, biliary tract, lung, gallbladder and stomach.3. Sugar Links to Tooth Decay Sugar has a high acidic content and as a result, it has a direct link to tooth decay and other dental problems.4. Sugar Links to Diabetes and Blood Sugar FluctuationsRefined sugar has a direct affect on your blood sugar levels and is a main cause of diabetes.5. Sugar and ObesityWith the zero nutritional value and no fiber content in sugar, it’s clearly implicated in obesity, which can cause many other illnesses and conditions. . 6. Sugar and Anxiety DisordersSugar can cause a rapid rise of adrenaline, hyperactivity, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, and crankiness in children and even adults. One of the first things that a person diagnosed with anxiety disorder is told to eliminate is refined sugar. 7. Sugar and the Aging Process Another result that stems from the fact that sugar has no nutritional value, is that it accelerates the aging process. In order for a body to remain healthy it must have the necessary vitamins and minerals needed to maintain vigor and energy. Again, sugar is not only void of nutrients, but it also zaps the body of the good stuff that is already there.All-in-all sugar is the one of the worse substances you can put in your body. However, the fact that there are sweet taste buds on the tongue still leaves the desire for something sweet to be consumed. It makes one wonder what to do if sugar is harmful to the body. There are so many other alternatives out there to satisfy the sweet tooth. Literally the earth is full of many natural sweet options. Fruit is a wonderful alternative to satisfy your sweet tooth and you have a bounty to choose from. As far as sweeteners you can try stevia or agave nectar. They are both great choices for baking, sweetening tea and whatever you use sugar for.Sugar is addictive and very damaging to the body. The wisest choice that you can make in deciding what to do about sugar is to simply decide to get it out of your pantry.

Why is it so hard for me to lose weight? What is wrong with my ability to digest food? Why can’t I eat the foods I used to? We’ve been asking these questions for years. Let’s face it. The body cannot easily digest and assimilate cooked foods. Therefore we can’t absorb the nutrition from our food as well. Cooked food passes through the digestive tract more slowly than raw food. Therefore, your food tends to ferment and putrefy, reabsorbing toxins back into your body. This causes gas, heartburn, headaches, allergies, obesity, and many other serious conditions.Supplemental plant digestive enzymes are used in the gastrointestinal tract to help break down food. 3 things are accomplished here when using digestive enzymes:1) Food is completely digested2) Nutrition from food is absorbed into the blood.3) Wastes pass through and are eliminated.Enzymes derived from plants are more beneficial than enzymes derived from animals, papaya, pineapple and other sources of enzymes from raw foods and fruits. Single cell plant enzymes are the most worthwhile source of enzymes. They perform well in humans insuring the break down and digestion of fats, carbohydrates and proteins. To be healthy, your digestive system has to assimilate food, distribute the nutrition, and eliminate wastes through bowels. This process must happen without stress on the digestive tract. When food is undigested the undigested particles pass through various parts of the body and is deposited as waste. This problem creates high cholesterol, arthritis, cellulite, inflammation of the organs, and even plaque in the arteries. The solution to creating balance in your health and avoiding suffering from the symptoms of the health issues mentioned above is making digestive plant enzymes a part of our daily food intake.Let’s review what digestive plant enzymes do.Proteases: breaks down protein.Sucrases: breaks down sucrose (refined sugar).Maltases: breaks down malt sugar.Lactases: breaks down milk sugar.Cellulases: breaks down fiber.Amylases: breaks down carbohydrates/starch.Lipases: breaks down fats. With food allergies becoming a common problem and more genetically altered foods appearing on the market, we must make enzymes a part of our every day meals. By taking digestive plant enzymes, your body will be able to digest and break down food, stay lean, burn more calories and live a healthier life.

One has to be living under a rock with no contact with the outside world not to feel the various energies that are circulating in and around us. Transition is happening everywhere, within our self, within our business world, within our relationships and just everywhere we turn and are. A favorite “Power Question” I like to ask myself is “What is seeking to emerge”; this is something that I usually do right before I go to sleep and then I ask to be shown first think in the morning, however, one morning I asked the question again during my quiet time/meditation time. What came from that question was, go on a juice fast. Well, I don’t know about you, but when I get uncomfortable my mind goes to comfort food and things that could be a quick fix to make me feel more comfortable. Does this work? Of course not, and usually I can fend it off with positive affirmations and dialogue that I feed to my subconscious mind, but a juice fast was the farthest thing from my mind. I know better than ignore these nudges/directions/suggestions, so off to the computer I went and had a play day with my best friend “google” and came up with juice recipes and all kinds of information on doing a juice fast. I took my juicer out of storage, cleaned it all up and had two days of eating all my present food that couldn’t be frozen and or saved for 21 days. Made out my grocery list and headed to the store to buy all of my fruits and vegetable, and got everything ready to start my juice fast. The fast is now 6 days along and I would like to report that I am doing well and have not cheated once, I am really enjoying taking these fresh fruit and vegetables and making delicious juices, knowing that the nutrients are replenishing my stressed body and creating a true wellness within. Another thing I have done is, I have eliminated any extra activities, projects, extra work that can be put off, physical exertion and have added alone time with nature, more meditation and of course blissful writing. So basically I am treating my mind, body and soul to in house juice fast retreat and just enjoying the experience. I feel lighter and calmer; so far I don’t feel clearer, however, I know that I will happen as the days go by; also further on into the fast I plan on adding an element of exercise and more physical activity, but for now I am just basking in the special feeling of just being with me and drinking the marvelous fresh juice that has all of these nutrients blessing my body.
