I mean, humans have to cook meat because… I guess because the human body can’t stand eating it the way it usually is… I dunno.
But most carnivores (well, actually all carnivores but humans) can eat meat raw, so would it be the same for dogs too?
I’m assuming dogs were meant to be carnivores because of their ancestors. But maybe they’re actually omnivores?

I think and after much research I am beginning to believe these fanatical raw feeders have many false logical statements. 1] they say don’t feed kibble w/raw because different digestive rates. I ask Doesn’t skin/bone/flesh digest at diff rates?They NEVER ANSWERED.
then they say Dogs are carnivores. BS I say, any wolf in the wild would eat pizza if it were available. OF COURSE. These raw feeding fanatics need to justify their position. By the way, I feed my dog raw, and raw chicken bones DO SPLINT!

on the bone, should I be feeding the cat the skin or not? Lets say a drumstick, for instance, should I not be removing the other smaller bone as well?

If I decide to feed my dog a raw diet which I would like to do how do I know that when he’s grabbing the chicken with his paws then walking around on my floors that my daughter isn’t going to get e-coli. It is not an option to bath him every time i feed him. I can keep him in one area untill he’s finished I still would worry about what he gets on his paws. Would mopping my floors be good enough.?? Please help.

This is for anyone using the BARF diet for their dogs (or cats). We are getting a dog this summer and I’ve been looking into the option of feeding a raw diet. My wife is concerned about the dog eating raw food in the house, mainly the chance that it could drag raw chicken around and contaminate places other than his/her food dish. I would imagine that a dog with a piece or raw chicken will take it’s time eating it and won’t just eat it out of the bowl. How do you deal with this? What is your cleanup routine? What if the dog brings the bone over to carpet? If you have children in the house how do you deal with a dog with raw food and kids? Should we really be concerned about all this?
Keep in mind this question is for people using the BARF diet, not an opportunity to oppose that anyone uses it.
