The reason I ask is there is some debate on whether you should give dogs raw bones or not, and I just wanted other peoples’ opinions.
I do feed my dogs raw meaty bones. Have done all my life.

I grow things in my room like sweet potatoes and wheat grass. I used to let them nibble at the leaves and stuff, until I learned that sweet potatoes are bad for them. Is it the same with grass? And what plants can I grow in my room that they won’t get sick eating?
Avocados, flowering plants, potatoes, grass, the like. And if you know, what insects can I feed them? I like to give them super worms as it is.

I asked a question yesterday whether or not to feed raw.
Anyway I have chosen to switch my 5 dogs and 4 cats to RAW feeding.
I have started out with a basic feeding for this week of:
Chicken mince (the pet store kind made for dogs contains bones and bits ground)
AND
Chicken necks
The question I have is should I throw away the dry food they were previously fed on or give them a bit of it (to help them adjust?)?
Please don’t answer this if you don’t know anything about feeding raw. Thanks

I asked a question earlier about what to feed and am considering a raw diet.
I’m scared about the period of detox, also about not feeding the right porportions of organ meat, bones, possibly grains, fruits/veggies. What books/websites have good info on switching? Also if you know anything in particular to advise me on. I’m afraid if I don’t do it right, my dog could end up sick, or die.

Some dog owners testify that BARF feeding is actually better for your dog. Afterall, in the wild, they eat raw food. But if this is the case, how come I don’t see testimonials by vets, or even breeders?
